During 2006 we’ve done a lot of projects in this English computer class. First, we participated in the ECML blog and then we opened our own blog on WordPress. Those blogs allowed us to express ourselves and be more comfortable with informal English. With the blogs we corresponded with other people from different countries, cultures and habits who were working on the same idea that us. It was very nice to have contact with them. We started a lot of other projects, like 43 things and places. These two sites are a little special, because until today I don’t know what their function is but they helped a little my English because I received and posted lots of comments. Another positive point it that with these two sites we had contact with people who are not at school learning English like in the other project, but people who are English speakers and use the normal daily language. In 43 places we can post about the places we have visited and talk a little about these places for people who don’t know or people who want to know. My favorite one is Flickr. In Flickr we can put photos, change photos, comment on photos and get to know a lot of people. We can see the world through other people´s eyes, with a different perspective. I like Flickr because I have a passion for photos and I love to take pictures of everything and everyone. Community Walk is very interesting. It is like Google Earth in that we can create maps of whatever place we want and see everyone´s map. In this map we can put the places we used to live, places we know or want to know. In these maps we can put photos, sound and video in everyplace we put a mark and a description and share with the others a little bit more about the world we live in. Superglu has a special function. I had no idea that tools like this existed. It gathers all of the posts we put in our blogs or in the sites like 43 things and places. Del.icio.us is also an aggregator with a different function. We can gather different bookmarks and favourites in only one place online and we can share them with everyone. It is very useful when we have to do homework with other people because they can see all the sites you have put in del.icio.us and can take your bookmarks. In my opinion, this kind of project is very interesting because we can learn a lot without books and without learning uninteresting things like grammar and all of this kind of things. The best way to learn a new language is practising. And this year we did a lot of practice what helped our learning.
